The Nigerian Police Force, Imo State Command, on behalf of the Federal Government of Nigeria, has declared wanted five people suspected to be supporters and financiers of the Indigenous People of Biafra ethnic groups.
These people according to the Police are : Julius Igwe, Male, aged 51, a native of Orlu in Imo State; Obi Manuakolam, male, aged 39, a native of Umuahia, in Abia State; Aderemi Kayode Adebayo, male, aged 44, a native of Owo in Ondo State; Patricia Ehiowu, female, age 39, a native of Orlu, in Imo State and Jude Egonu, male, aged 44, a native of Orlu in Imo State.
The five suspects are being wanted by the Nigerian Police over their involvement in the treasonous activities of the outlawed Indigenous People of Baiafra ( IPOB) in Imo State and by extension in Nigeria.
The Police claim that the wanted persons are the major supporters and financiers of IPOB cause and activities in Imo state.
IPOB is a tribalistic organization with an unconventional separatist agenda that threatens Nigerian unity. For this reason, the organization was outlawed by the Nigerian government in 2017 with its activities proscribed across the country. Anyone found as a member or supporter of the organization is liable to 25 years in imprisonment by the Nigerian constitution.
According to the Police, investigation reveals that the suspects who are at large now, are the backbones of the ethnic organization in Imo state. They were reputed to be major financiers of the outlawed organization in Imo state, sponsoring its activities, which the Police considered treasonous against the Nigerian government and state
The police urge the public who may have knowledge about the whereabouts of the wanted suspects to report that to the nearest police station.
