AUKE, BENUE STATE – June 30, 2025 – The leadership of Auke Community has firmly debunked reports circulating on social media suggesting that the community rejected the second borehole project facilitated by Chief Hon. Pastor Ojotu Ojema, the Honourable Member representing Apa/Agatu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
In an official statement signed by prominent leaders of the community, including the Clan Head, Chief Augustine Ododo Amonjenu; the National Chairman of Auke Development Association, Mr. Benard Negedu; and the National Secretary, Hon. Emmanuel Ejelikwu, the community expressed profound appreciation for the borehole project, describing it as a critical intervention that has improved access to clean water.
“The importance of this project cannot be overemphasized,” the statement read. “It has gone a long way in providing clean water to the people of Auke, thereby improving health outcomes and the overall quality of life.”
According to the leaders, several community meetings have been held where residents unanimously voiced support and gratitude for the project. Numerous testimonies from community members affirm that the borehole has already made a meaningful impact.
The borehole initiative, they added, aligns with the broader goals of Auke Community in pursuing sustainable development and improving basic social amenities. The statement emphasized that claims of rejection are unfounded, misleading, and may have arisen from deliberate misrepresentations or political mischief.
“As a community, we are taken aback by those who seek to politicize development efforts for selfish gains,” the leaders declared. “Such individuals do not represent the collective voice of Auke. They are enemies of progress and do not have the community’s interest at heart.”
Auke Community reiterated its unwavering commitment to collaborating with elected leaders and public officials in promoting development projects that directly benefit the people.
“We remain eternally grateful to Chief Hon. Pastor Ojotu Ojema for his sincere efforts in addressing our water supply challenges,” the statement concluded.
The leaders urged the general public to disregard any malicious reports suggesting otherwise and reaffirmed that the community stands united in support of the project and the Honourable member.
