The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, has hosted an Eid-el-Kabir luncheon for frontline troops of Operation Fansan Yamma Sokoto, in appreciation of their sacrifices and dedication to national security.
The event aimed to provide troops with a sense of home during the festive season, while fostering camaraderie and esprit de corps.
Lt.-Gen. Oluyede commended the troops for their significant role in combating terror networks and maintaining national unity, peace, and security. He urged them to remain resolute in their mission to defeat adversaries.
The COAS represented by Commander Nigeria Army Cyber Warfare, Major General Adeleke Ayannuga, Oluyode reaffirmed his commitment to enhancing welfare initiatives to boost troop morale and assured the troops of his support
He charged them operational progress to tamed the activities of insurgency.
The COAS conveyed President Bola Tinubu’s commendation and Nigerians’ appreciation for the troops’ efforts in defending the country
He thanked Mr President for his unflinching support and found him worthy of leading Nigerian Army.
Earlier in his remark, Maj.-Gen. Ibikunle Ajose General Officer Commanding 8 Division and Commander Operation Fansan Yamma highlighted the significance of the luncheon in building esprit de corps and recapping the year’s accomplishments.
Ajose commended the gallant troops of Operation Fansan Yamma for their unwavering resilience and steadfastness in the fight against insurgency.
Ajose praised the troops for their efforts in restoring peace to troubled areas in the zone, enabling residents to return to their lawful businesses.
He urged the troops to continue strengthening the bonds of unity, while honoring the memory of fallen heroes who laid down their lives for the peace and security of the nation.
Ajose also expressed his gratitude to the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, for his unwavering support to the troops.
The commendation is a morale-booster for the troops, who have been working tirelessly to restore peace and stability to the region.
The COAS also visited Army hospital where he encourage the wounded soldiers and enjoined them to remain hopeful saying their sacrifices shall never be in vain.
