Police on the trail of lesbian over partner’ s death ,lesbianism in Lagos
The police in Lagos State Nigeria are on the trail of a suspected Nigerian lesbian,simply identified as Chisom William.
The wanted person is accused of engaging in lesbianism and the unresolved death of her partner in the crime ,which reportedly occurred at her apartment at Uwagboe Close Lagos State , Nigeria
It was gathered that the unidentified partner of the wanted Chisom died in her house ,a matter that has already become a subject of investigation to the police.
A police source ,who,pleaded anonymity , confirmed the incident to the City Pride confirmed that the police are on the trail of the suspect .
The police source said ” We got a report from someone that a female lesbian died in the home of her partner and we swung to investigation .”
The owner of the house has been on the run . She didn’t report to the police but another person did. Lesbianism is a very criminal offence in Nigeria Maybe that is whey she escaped .”
He also stated that ” We have extended our investigations to her past and we got to know that Chisom was married to a man and was chased away by the family ,after 17 years of not been able to conceive and give birth to a baby .”
” She went through trauma and mental disturbance but that is not an excuse for engaging in lesbianism in Nigeria .The law is clear on same sex engagement in Nigeria .”
Many women have been subjected to emotional trauma and agony in Nigeria and other parts of Africa following their inability to conceive and give birth to babies .
Such experiences have reportedly led to sharp increase in the rate of depression among married women ,resulting in deaths in some instances .
The wanted Chisom was said to have attempted suicide at one point in life ,before she was eventually chased away from her matrimonial home by relatives of her former husband
The police source however pointed out that ” Investigation and tests,which were conducted on the body of the deceased partner however did not reveal any sign of violence .
Investigation is still ongoing to ascertain the cause of the death but we have established a fact that the two of them were lesbians and they were in a same sex relationship
