LSSTF Felicitates with Lagosians on Christmas, Calls for Vigilance and Shared Responsibility
The Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) has extended warm Christmas greetings to Lagos residents, urging them to embrace peace, unity, and collective responsibility during this festive season.
In a goodwill message released on Thursday, the Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of LSSTF, Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan, described Christmas as a period of reflection, gratitude, and renewed commitment to building a safer society for all. He highlighted the importance of community participation in ensuring the safety and security of lives and property across the state.
Dr. Ogunsan reminded Lagosians that while Christmas is a time of joy and togetherness, it also calls for heightened vigilance as festivities peak across the state. “Christmas reminds us of the power of love, sacrifice and collective responsibility,” Dr. Ogunsan stated. “As families gather to celebrate, I encourage all Lagos residents to remain security-conscious, report suspicious activities promptly, and cooperate fully with law enforcement agencies to prevent avoidable threats during this festive period.”
He also urged motorists and commuters to obey traffic regulations to significantly reduce road accidents during the holidays — a period that traditionally sees increased travel and movement across Lagos.
The LSSTF boss expressed profound appreciation to the Lagos State Government, led by Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, for its unwavering support and commitment to strengthening the security architecture of the state. He commended the governor’s visionary leadership, noting that sustained government backing has enabled the Trust Fund to deliver impactful support to security agencies.
Dr. Ogunsan also thanked the Fund’s strategic partners, corporate organisations, retail donors, and individual contributors for their generous support throughout the year. He noted that every contribution has directly enhanced the operational capacity of security agencies in Lagos, leading to improved logistics, mobility, and community protection.
Highlighting the dedication of security personnel who continue to work tirelessly — often at great personal sacrifice — to keep Lagos safe, he paid tribute to officers from the Nigeria Police Force, Rapid Response Squad (RRS), Nigerian Armed Forces, paramilitary agencies, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), Lagos State Neighborhood Safety Agency (LSNA), and local security outfits
Reaffirming LSSTF’s mandate, Dr. Ogunsan assured Lagos residents that the Fund will continue to mobilise resources, deepen strategic partnerships and support innovative means of addressing security challenges in alignment with the vision of the Lagos State Government. He encouraged continuous financial and moral support from individuals, groups and organisations, stressing that collective contributions can significantly enhance public safety.
Dr. Ogunsan concluded his message by wishing Lagosians a peaceful Christmas and a prosperous New Year, expressing optimism that ongoing collaboration between government, the private sector and citizens will yield improved security outcomes in the year ahead.
