In what will have been a landmark moment for Africa’s real estate sector, Property Brokers International Magazine will be officially launched on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at the prestigious Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA), situated on Kofo Abayomi Street, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The event, which will carry the theme “Real Estate Tokenization and Financing: The Future of Property Investment in Africa,” will have brought together a diverse mix of industry professionals, investors, policymakers, and innovators. This launch will have marked a significant milestone in the discourse surrounding blockchain, digital property assets, and progressive financing tools within the African real estate ecosystem.

Delivering the keynote address will be Dr. Lanre Shonekan, Chairman of the Lashone Group (UK) and a globally respected authority in property development and cross-border investment. In his speech, Dr. Shonekan will emphasize the critical importance of embracing real estate tokenization—the process by which physical property assets are digitized into blockchain-based tokens. This, he will argue, is key to democratizing property ownership, enhancing liquidity, and attracting international capital to African markets.

“Africa’s property market must leapfrog into the future by leveraging blockchain technology to create inclusive, transparent, and scalable investment models,” Dr. Shonekan will have stated.

The initiative have been spearheaded by Dr. Matthew Ibadin, visionary publisher of Property Brokers International Magazine, and a long-time advocate for innovation in real estate. In his opening remarks, Dr. Ibadin will describe the magazine as a strategic platform for education, thought leadership, and connectivity among real estate stakeholders both within and outside Africa.

“This magazine is not just a publication; it is a movement,” Dr. Ibadin said.
“Our goal is to spotlight emerging trends, offer insights into regulatory frameworks, and promote ethical brokerage and investment practices that align with global standards.”

The launch will attract an impressive assembly of industry leaders, legal experts, developers, PropTech entrepreneurs, and diaspora investors. Through panel discussions and networking sessions, the event will be tackling key topics such as:

Legal and regulatory frameworks for tokenization in Nigeria and Africa

Financing solutions for first-time buyers and developers

Opportunities for cross-border investments

Digital innovation and the rise of PropTech in African real estate

Attendees will also have toured an exclusive exhibition showcasing tech-enabled real estate solutions, including blockchain-based transaction platforms and smart property management tools. These displays will offer a compelling preview into the future of property investment across Africa.

With Africa’s urban population projected to double by 2050, the continent will be facing urgent demands for affordable housing, smart urban planning, and innovative financing models. Experts at the launch will have unanimously agreed that real estate tokenization holds the key to unlocking inclusive wealth creation, global investment flow, and economic resilience through real estate.

As the inaugural edition of Property Brokers International Magazine rolls out, it will have positioned itself as an authoritative guide for navigating the digitized, decentralized, and dynamic future of African property investment.
