In celebration of the 2025 edition of International Children’s Day, St. Joseph’s Secondary School, Auke, in Benue State, joined millions of children across the globe to mark the occasion with a vibrant and engaging funfair.

The event, held within the school premises, was designed to be both educational and entertaining. Speaking during the ceremony, the Principal, Rev. Fr. Innocent Evan Owiocho, noted that this year’s celebration was deliberately structured to offer the students a blend of learning and leisure.

“This day is meant to be memorable for our students, and we have made sure it reflects values of education, creativity, and unity,” he said.

The celebration kicked off at exactly 8:30 a.m. and drew a large turnout of spectators from the host community and surrounding areas, who came to witness and cheer the participants.

Staff and students alike commended Rev. Fr. Innocent for his transformative leadership since assuming office early last year, noting his unwavering commitment to revitalizing the school’s culture and standard.

Highlights of the celebration included a march-past, inter-house competitions, and a dramatic performance by the students—all of which captivated the audience and added color to the occasion.

The event concluded with the presentation of awards to the top-performing houses: St. Joseph’s House clinched first place, followed by Bishop Apochi House in second place, and Ademu Ukpokwu House in third.
