Makurdi, April 16, 2025 —
In a spirit-filled display of gratitude and reverence, the Member representing Apa/Agatu Federal Constituency and Chairman of the House Committee on National Inland Waterways, Chief Pastor Hon. Ojotu Ojema FESMI, paid a heartfelt visit to his spiritual father and General Overseer of Petros Assembly Church International, Archbishop Cephas Ocheola Okwori, at his residence in Makurdi.
The visit, described as a “Thank You” tour, was marked by deep emotions and spiritual reflection. Speaking during the visit, Pst. Ojema praised Archbishop Okwori for the spiritual transformation and mentorship that shaped his life and political journey.
“Archbishop Okwori is my spiritual father and mentor who played a pivotal role in my life. He guided me spiritually, ordained me, and stood by me through my journey into public service. I owe a lot to his teachings and prayers,” Ojema stated.
In response, Archbishop Okwori commended Ojema for remaining spiritually grounded despite his rising political profile. He described him as a loyal son who had never been found wanting and prayed for his continued success.
“His leadership at the National Assembly has clearly shown the hand of God. I prophesy that his journey will not end after one term. He is destined for greater leadership,” Okwori declared.
The lawmaker also visited Pastor/Evangelist Michael Ewache, General Overseer of The Glory of His Royal Majesty Church Bethel Land, Makurdi, to appreciate him for his spiritual mentorship and guidance.
Pst. Ojema participated in the church’s Weekly Healing and Deliverance Service, themed “No Abandoned Project in My Life.” He was anointed during the service, with Pastor Ewache declaring that no spiritual force would derail his destiny or leadership mission.
To round off a spiritually charged day, Pst. Ojema hosted members of the Apa/Agatu Pastors Forum residing in Makurdi, where he reiterated the importance of continued prayers for peace, unity, and security across Nigeria, particularly in the crisis-prone areas of Apa and Agatu.
He expressed gratitude to the pastors for their unwavering support, assuring them of his commitment to the spiritual and material well-being of his constituents.
“I remain one of you, and your prayers are the backbone of my strength in leadership. Let us continue to work and pray together for the peace and progress of our land,” he told the gathering.
In goodwill messages, Very Rev. Abdul Adanu, Very Rev. Edeh of the Methodist Church, Prophet Dr. Chief Moses Ekani of God Prophetic Ministry, and other church leaders hailed Ojema as a people-centric leader who has evenly distributed projects and empowerment across the constituency.
They pledged their continued support and described him as a rare blend of spiritual and political leadership.
Elder Napoleon Ademu of ECWA Church Makurdi, in a vote of thanks, lauded Ojema for staying connected to the spiritual community that nurtured him. He wished the lawmaker divine wisdom and protection throughout his tenure at the National Assembly.
