The General Officer Commanding,8 Division Nigerian Army, Sokoto , Major General Ibikunke Ajose has assured that officers and men of the Division would ensure that Corps Members and NYSC formations within it’s areas of operation will continue to enjoy maximum protection.

He said all Corps Members serving at the Division are equally accorded high priority with other privileges alongside the Army Officers.
The visit was to enable the GOC to access the activities of his personnels being deployed to partake in the conduct of the 2024 Batch C’ Stream II orientation course and to also see how Corps members are fairing in the camp
” I’m here to see how you are carrying out the camping activities and give you words of advice as well as sharing with you some important security tips that would serve as guiding light to all of you he stated.

He reaffirmed the commitment of Nigerian Army under his command to continue prioritizing the security and wellbeing of Corps Members
” As we assured you of your security, we also urge you to be security conscious and always be law abiding,” he added

General Ajose who is also commander sector 2 Operation Fansan Yamma, Northwest further pledged to continue assisting the activities of the scheme in the state, saying that NYSC is like an offshoot of the Nigerian army
The GOC disclosed this today when he visited Wamakko Permanent orientation camp, Sokoto.
He stated that NYSC has always been a part of the Nigerian Army, hence, the need to foster stronger relationship between both government establishments.
General Ajose added that the Division would continue to work with other sister security agencies, community leaders, traditional rulers, religious groups, political leaders and other stakeholders in the effective discharge of its duties.
“We will continue to provide adequate security for all Corps Lodges, NYSC Secretariats and Orientation he stated.
In his benevolence, GOC announced the donation of 3 kids and bulls to augment the feeding of Corps Members and doled out One Million for sponsoring the orientation sporting activities, one Million for the purchase of additional drugs to the camp clinic, and one million to be shared to the NYSC camp officials
Earlier in welcome address, State Coordinator, Usman Yakubu Yaro ( Malikin Zuru) applauded the efforts of the military personnels deployed to the camp, describing their performance as wonderful
Coordinator who informed the GOC that the 2024 Batch C’ Stream II Corps Members are well behaved and imbibed the spirit of discipline as instilled in them by the soldiers further appreciated the generosity of making this wonderful donation as well as the other support being enjoying by the scheme from the 8 Division on behalf of the NYSC Director General and Corps members
