The hardworking and extremely proactive governor of Katsina State, His Excellency, Mallam Dikko Umar Radda Ph.D and as well as the executive governor of Lagos State Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu were honoured with distinguished performance accolades at the National Media Community Award 2024 held at the NERDC Conference Centre in Alausa Ikeja on Friday the 22nd of November 2024 in an event filled with dignitaries from all walks of life, topnotch business tycoons, high-powered political juggernauts and the respected diplomatic corps.
The charismatic people’s governor, His Excellency Mallam Dikko Radda was presented with the prestigious award of the Outstanding Governor of the Year while Governor Sanwo-Olu, a man of influential means in the Nigerian democratic sphere was honoured with the most Resourceful Governor of the Year.
On ground to receive the award of the Katsina State Governor, Mallam Dikko Umar Radda was a very powerful entourage led by Honourable Bala Salisu Zango, the Honourable Commissioner for Information and others include Malam Maiwada Dammalam, the Director General on Media to the Executive Governor, Ibrahim Kaula Muhammed the Chief Press Secretary to His Excellency and Abubakar Badaru Jikamshi, the Senior Special Asst Media to the Governor. Both Governor Sanwo-Olu and Peter Mba were also ably represented by their top aides.
In addition to the celebration of these democratically proactive governors is another great achiever, the Distinguished Senator Solomon Adeola Olamilekan, popularly known as Yayi, the Senator representing Ogun West Senatorial District at the Upper Chambers of the National Assembly and the Chairman, Senate Committee on Appropriations. The Aremo of Yewaland was duly honoured with the award of Senator of the Year.
However, being a media event, organizers of National Media Community Award 2024 thought it expedient to honour successful media giants who have all made their marks and paid their dues not only in the Nigerian media space but the global media sector.
