The Police in Nigeria have urged anyone with useful information about the whereabout of a lady who was alleged to have committed unnatural sexual offence with a fellow lady. Her name is Funmilola Felicia Kilanko, and she is suspected to have fled the country. The lady was said to have committed the crime in August 2023 at the house of her partner located at Kobo community in Osogbo, Osun State.
The police had declared the suspect wanted, after her partner identified as Florence Edwards was killed in a mob attack by some youth in the community who caught them in the act.
Homosexuality is considered as an offensive and abominable immoral practice in Nigeria. The act is seriously frowned in any society within Nigeria.
According to the report, Funmilola and her partner, Florence, were caught red-handed committing the abominable act by some youths in the Kobo community. These irrate youths according to reports, pounced on them. But while Funmilola was said to have escaped, Florence was not lucky as she was reportedly lynched to death by the youths through an extrajudicial manner.
This incident, which has thrown the community into confusion, has become complicated as the Police had arrested the people involved in the extra judicial killing.
The police source who pleaded anonymity while speaking on the wanted suspect, however, said she is needed to come and explain herself in the alleged act.
He further said, police have vowed to use all legal machinery to arrest the suspect to face full wrath of the law in Nigeria to serve as a deterrent to others committing unnatural sexual offences in the country.
Homosexuality is a serious crime in Nigeria, and whoever is found culpable of the act is liable to spend at least fourteen years in prison.
