Fire razes Nigercat office at Lagos Airport Hotel ,Ikeja

 

 

 

 

Millions of naira worth of goods and properties have been destroyed in a fire incident that occurred at the Lagos Airport Hotel .

 

The inferno ,which occurred on Saturday ,November 14 2024 , also reportedly destroyed valuable documents including bank cheques ,Certificates of Occupancy and others belonging to Nigercat Nigeria Limited .

 

It was gathered that the fire ,which reportedly started around 2 ‘ O clock in the afternoon completely destroyed the main office ,before it was put out by fire fighters ,who were mobilized to the scene

 

Eye witnesses at the scene of the fire incident stated that the fire started from the power inverter in the office complex and went wild before it could be curtailed .

 

An eye witness ,who simply identify himself as Yemi said ” We thank God that nobody died in the fire incident but there was serious tension. ”

 

He narrated that ” Around 2 O’ clock in the afternoon ,heavy smoke was noticed at Nigercat company. and when we rushed there,it was discovered to be from the inverter section .

 

The fire was already on and efforts by all of us to put it out failed as it continued to grow bigger and bigger with heavy smoke enveloping everywhere .”

 

He also continued that ” By the time fire fighters arrived ,the damage had been done .The fire had already destroyed a lot of things including the record section ,where documents such as C of O ,bank documents land and other documents were kept

 

The fire reportedly created serious panic around the burnt section as efforts were made to prevent it from spreading to a nearby filling station.

 

The image maker in charge of the Lagos State Police Command ,Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the fire incident to the City Pride .

 

The police image maker said ” Yes ,we got a report of fire incident at the hotel .It affected offices and not the main hotel building .

 

He however stated that the police in the state had begun investigations into the fire incident.
