Silverbird COO, Bola Salako, Mourns Father’s Passing at 91
The family of Engineer Babatunde Adesola Salako has announced the peaceful transition of their revered patriarch, who passed on at the age of 91.

Late Engineer Salako lived a life marked by discipline, service, and unwavering faith. He received his early education at Baptist Academy, Lagos, before proceeding to the Northern Polytechnic in London, where he further honed his technical expertise. His professional journey saw him rise to the esteemed position of Director of Signal and Telecommunications at the Nigerian Railway Corporation, where he made significant contributions to the development of the nation’s rail infrastructure.
In a heartfelt tribute, his son, Bola Salako, Chief Operating Officer of Silverbird Group, described his father as a man who placed God above all else and embodied love, humility, and respect in his interactions with others. He noted that the late patriarch’s legacy of kindness, integrity, and devotion to family and humanity will remain indelible in the hearts of all who knew him.

“He treated everyone he encountered with genuine warmth and respect. His life was a shining example of faith and service, and he will be deeply missed,” Bola Salako said.
Family members, friends, and associates have continued to pour in tributes, celebrating a life well spent and a legacy that transcends generations.

Obsequies
A series of funeral rites have been scheduled in honour of the late Engineer Salako.
An Evening of Worship will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Chapel of Christ The Light, located at 1, IPM Road, Central Business District, Lagos State Secretariat, Alausa, Ikeja.
The Funeral Service is slated for Friday, April 17, 2026, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at the same venue. Interment will follow immediately at Ikoyi Cemetery, while a reception will be held shortly after the burial.
Engineer Babatunde Adesola Salako is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, and an extended family network who will continue to uphold his legacy.
