Ambassador Olatutu Oladunni Honoured as Fellow, Institute of Security Nigeria

The prestigious 18th Annual International Security Conference and Investiture Ceremony of the Institute of Security, Nigeria (ISN), held on November 28, 2025, at the Faculty of Social Sciences Auditorium, University of Lagos, became a defining moment in the career of Ambassador Olatutu Oladunni, as she was formally inducted and decorated as a Fellow of the Institute of Security Nigeria.
This year’s conference, with the compelling theme “Expanding Frontiers of Innovations in Security Enhancement and Nation Building in Nigeria,” attracted eminent personalities, top security professionals, scholars, diplomats, and traditional rulers from across the country and beyond. The event showcased thought leadership, high-level dialogue, and recognition of distinguished individuals contributing significantly to security development and nation-building.
The keynote address was delivered by the Distinguished Guest Speaker, Ambassador Tukur Yusuf Buratai, CFR, retired Lieutenant General and former Chief of Army Staff, who emphasized the urgent need for innovation, inter-agency cooperation, and global best practices in strengthening Nigeria’s security architecture.
The President of the Institute, Professor Dele Olowokudejo, DFISN, presided over the investiture, while the Deputy President and Chief Executive Officer, Professor Adebayo Akinade, DFISN, played a key role in the induction and decoration of new members across various professional categories—Distinguished Fellows, Senior Fellows, Fellows, and Professional Associates.
The ceremony also honoured several eminent Nigerians.
His Excellency, Professor Ambassador Ibrahim Agboola Gambari, CFR, former Chief of Staff to the President, was decorated as a Distinguished Fellow.
Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume, Chairman, Senate Committee on Army, also received the Distinguished Fellow honour.
In the same category, His Royal Majesty, Oba Professor Ambassador Saka Matemilola, the Olowu of Owu Kingdom, was similarly inducted as Distinguished Fellow.
But one of the most celebrated highlights of the day was the investiture of Ambassador Olatutu Oladunni as a Fellow of the Institute of Security Nigeria, a recognition of her extensive contributions to diplomacy, intergovernmental relations, foreign policy engagement, and global cooperation on security and development matters.
Ambassador Oladunni, a leading figure in international relations and Head of Foreign Relations, Pan African American Chamber of Commerce, received her fellowship badge and certificate in a colourful decoration ceremony attended by prominent dignitaries, including the Queen of Owu Kingdom, Olori Ambassador Adijat Matemilola, who joined other officials of the institution to celebrate her.
The auditorium erupted in applause as Ambassador Oladunni was decorated—an honour that further solidifies her status as an influential voice in diplomacy, cross-border cooperation, and national security advocacy. Photos from the event captured her standing proudly with key dignitaries, including Lt. Gen. Buratai (Rtd), Queen Adijat Matemilola, Prof. Olowokudejo, and Prof. Adebayo Akinade.
