As the Anambra governorship election draws nearer, stakeholders in Idemili North Local Government Area have applauded Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo for his exceptional performance and people-centered governance, urging Ndi Anambra to ensure continuity in order to consolidate the gains already recorded across the state.
Speaking during a stakeholders’ forum in Idemili North, the Secretary to the Local Government Council and President General of Ideani Development Union Federated, Hon. Paul Chidubem Okoye, described Governor Soludo as a visionary leader whose developmental strides have redefined governance and accelerated progress in key sectors of the state.
Okoye stated that Soludo’s administration has demonstrated uncommon commitment to the Anambra Vision 2070 blueprint, anchoring policies and programmes on innovation, inclusion, and measurable impact. He emphasized that the governor’s achievements cut across education, infrastructure, healthcare, security, and youth empowerment, adding that Soludo’s leadership has restored public confidence in government institutions.
According to Okoye, education remains a flagship of Soludo’s transformation agenda. “Under Soludo, education is back to life,” he declared, citing the massive recruitment of teachers, renovation of public schools, and introduction of digital learning tools that have repositioned Anambra’s education system for global competitiveness. He said the governor’s reforms have bridged the rural-urban learning divide, ensuring that every child, irrespective of background, has access to quality education.
On security, Okoye praised Soludo for restoring peace and stability across the state. He noted that through intelligence-driven policing, synergy with federal security agencies, and the strengthening of local vigilante groups, the state has recorded a drastic reduction in crime. “Peace is back in Anambra, and it remains the foundation for every other progress we are witnessing today,” he affirmed.
The stakeholders’ forum also commended Soludo’s interventions in healthcare, describing them as life-saving and people-focused. Okoye pointed out that the administration’s emphasis on primary healthcare, maternal and child welfare, and rural medical infrastructure has improved access to quality services across communities. He further noted that the free medical outreach programmes and incentives for healthcare workers have boosted morale and enhanced service delivery.
In the area of infrastructure, Okoye remarked that Anambra has become “one big construction site,” with hundreds of kilometers of roads under construction or rehabilitation across the three senatorial districts. These projects, he said, have opened up communities, enhanced trade, improved rural connectivity, and supported agricultural productivity.
On youth empowerment, he lauded the “One Youth, Two Skills” initiative, describing it as one of the most practical approaches to tackling unemployment. The programme, which equips young people with dual technical and entrepreneurial skills, has, according to him, transformed many Anambra youths into successful innovators and business owners.
Okoye further highlighted the impact of the “Solution” agenda at the grassroots level, noting that Soludo’s policy of direct community funding has deepened inclusion and accelerated rural development. “No community is left behind,” he said, referencing numerous projects such as rural electrification, road rehabilitation, and social welfare initiatives that have revitalized local economies and restored citizens’ faith in governance.
In his closing remarks, Okoye urged Ndi Anambra to rally behind Governor Soludo for continuity, stressing that the progress recorded in the past few years must not be truncated. “Governor Soludo’s achievements are visible in every community; what we need now is consolidation to ensure Anambra’s transformation remains on course,” he concluded.
