Prominent entrepreneur and public figure, Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan, who recently marked his birthday recently, has continued to receive widespread recognition for his commitment to humanitarian service, ethical business practices, and steadfast support for security agencies, particularly the Nigeria Police Force.
At a time when the nation faces growing security challenges, Dr. Ogunsan’s efforts in supporting public safety initiatives, youth development, and strategic policing reforms have drawn commendations from both government and civic leaders.
Dr. Ogunsan, who currently serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), has been instrumental in initiatives aimed at strengthening public safety and addressing societal vices such as cultism, drug abuse, and youth violence.
In 2024, the Nigeria Police Force appointed Dr. Ogunsan as Chairman of the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) in Lagos State. The initiative, which seeks to reduce the influence of cult groups and criminal gangs among Nigerian youths, has since gained momentum under his leadership.
Speaking at a recent stakeholders’ forum, Dr. Ogunsan reiterated the importance of community-based policing and preventive security strategies. “Our goal is not just to fight crime, but to address the root causes,” he said. “By educating and empowering our youth, we are building safer communities.”
His efforts have not gone unnoticed. The Nigeria Police Force awarded Dr. Ogunsan a Distinguished Service Award for his contributions to internal security and his longstanding partnership with law enforcement agencies. Additionally, in recognition of his advocacy for peace and social development, the International Parliament for Safety, Peace and Justice (UN-POLAC) appointed him as an International Peace Advocate.
Beyond public service, Dr. Ogunsan is the Chairman of Executive Group, a business conglomerate with interests in education, professional training, logistics, and the automobile sector. His business operations have consistently been noted for transparency, sound corporate governance, and social responsibility.
Colleagues and observers have pointed to his consistent values and principled leadership as key to his growing impact. “Dr. Ogunsan has shown that it is possible to succeed in business without compromising integrity,” said a senior official at LSSTF. “His commitment to public safety and human capital development is exemplary.”
A passionate advocate for youth empowerment, Dr. Ogunsan continues to drive community engagement through public lectures, outreach campaigns, and mentorship programmes focused on moral leadership, peacebuilding, and security cooperation.
He has also been vocal about the need for stronger public-private collaboration in the fight against crime, especially in major urban centres like Lagos. Under his stewardship, LSSTF has facilitated improved resource mobilization and logistical support for security operatives across the state.
Born and raised in Lagos, Dr. Ogunsan studied Business Administration and Management at the Federal Polytechnic Ado-Ekiti and later at Yaba College of Technology. Over the years, he has received numerous awards and commendations for his contributions to leadership, national security, and community development.
As he celebrates his 49th year, many across both the public and private sectors are hailing Dr. Ogunsan’s example as a blueprint for ethical leadership and sustainable development in Nigeria.
