In a move that screams work hard, rest harder!, the Lagos State Taskforce, under the dynamic leadership of CSP Adetayo Akerele, has officially opened a state-of-the-art Safety Arena Relaxation Spot for its officers, paramilitary personnel, and safety officials.
The high-energy unveiling took place on May 9th, 2025, with Lagos State Commissioner for Special Duties, Hon. Olugbenga Oyerinde, cutting the ribbon on behalf of the state governor. Oyerinde couldn’t hold back his praise for CSP Akerele, hailing the project as a “brilliant and thoughtful initiative” for the often-overlooked frontline heroes.

CSP Akerele, speaking at the event, said the relaxation center was born out of a need to provide a safe, comfortable space for officers returning from late-night operations. “Instead of risking their lives in search of food at odd hours, they can now head straight to the Safety Arena, eat, rest, and even engage in fitness routines. We’re also planning regular exercise and gymnastics sessions to keep our men in top shape,” he declared.
He also extended heartfelt thanks to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, calling him a “kind-hearted leader” for backing the initiative with logistics and full support.

Heads of units across the safety sector were present, beaming with appreciation for what they described as a “game-changing and morale-boosting project.”
One thing’s clear—Lagos safety officers now have more than just duty… they’ve got comfort, cuisine, and cardio to keep them going strong!
