In a move aimed at promoting unity and cooperation, a concerned sons and daughters of Agatu has called on the Apa community to unite behind a consensus candidate in the upcoming election.
The appeal, which was made in a statement addressed to the “Apa Brethren,” emphasized the importance of presenting a united front in order to ensure that the Apa community’s interests are represented.

According to the statement, the majority of stakeholders in Agatu have agreed that it is Apa’s turn to produce a candidate for house of representatives, and the community is expected to work together to select a widely acceptable candidate.
The statement also praised the Apa community’s support for an Agatu candidate in the 2019 election, despite having one of their own sons as a candidate.

“We have not forgotten your remarkable gesture in 2019… That sacrifice was not just political, it was a statement of trust and goodwill,” the statement read.
However, the statement also warned that internal divisions or unchecked ambition within the Apa community could undermine the rotation principle that the communities are striving to uphold.

They urged the Apa community to guard against this possibility and to unite behind a consensus candidate, emphasizing that “unity is strength.”
